Drinking water supply scheme at 23 nos of wards Kalimpong municipality area under public health engineering department, GTA ,Darjeeling
Current scenario of water supply system:
a)As the water supply system was designed and erected in 65 to 80 years ego, it does not the capacity to cater today’s population.
b)Feeder main and supply pipes are in decaying condition.
c)The distribution system is greatly hampered due to uncontrolled illegal taping.
d)Quality of water is a matter of deep concern as there is no basic treatment in operation.
e)Even in this situation, extensive use of rain water harvesting is not present.
f)The water usage metering system is absent in the town.
g)No control or enacted bylaws over water consumption.
